Written by Surfrider Foundation Palm Beach County Chapter | Feb 1, 2018 4:01:35 AM

WHEN: Feb 15th - 16th

WHERE: U.S. Capitol, Washington D.C.

TIME: 8am - 5pm

WHAT: visit with congressional offices, network with advocates from around the country, and enjoy social events in the evening.

YOU ARE INVITED!

On February 15-16, 2018, Surfrider members, coastal businesses, and our partners will convene in Washington D.C. for Ocean Recreation Hill Day to ask our nation’s leaders to protect our coasts and ocean! Come visit with congressional offices, network with advocates from around the country, and enjoy social events in the evening.

Our federal leaders need to hear from Surfrider chapters and other recreational users. Both Congress and the Trump adminstration are considering proposals that would be very damaging to coastal resources and the socioeconomic benefits they provide. Our goal is to elevate the voice of the ocean recreation community and inspire stronger federal leadership on these critical issues. Our lobby priorities for 2018 include:

  • Stop New Offshore Drilling
  • Fund Beach Water Quality Testing
  • Reduce Plastic Pollution
  • Promote Coastal Resilience

Registration is free and all materials and training will be provided. Attendees can sign up to participate in meetings with congressional offices on both Thursday and Friday (we understand many people will only be available Friday). After we finish our lobby visits, Surfrider’s D.C. Chapter will host a Friday evening celebration for all participants and supporters.

Please join us for a gathering you won't you won't soon forget!
